“It’s together that we’ll get out of this bad spell”

Romain, President of the PSG Fan Club Singapore tells us of the impact of the COVID-19 health crisis on his everyday life.

More than two months have passed since the start of the COVID-19 health crisis and for Paris Saint-Germain supporters, what they’re missing is becoming ever more felt. Romain, the president of the Fan Club Singapore tells us about his new daily life: “We’re in a situation of semi-confinement, we can go out to do sport or to go grocery shopping. The rest of the shops are closed. my life has changed since the start of confinement. I’ve been working from home for a month and a half. We’re not allowed to see people from outside our household. So it was quite difficult to get used to this new life.”

In spite of the situation, communication lines have not been broken between members of the Fan Club. On the contrary in fact… “We keep in contact with the Fan Club on WhatsApp groups and we talk regularly about Paris Saint-Germain news. With important members of the Fan Club we’re trying to see what we can organise and put into place after this difficult period.”

Romain is keeping up to date with the news of the club he holds in his heart and is savouring the French title that has been dedicated to hospital staff. Ins porting terms, there’s still a great adventure to be had in the Champions League, a competition in which he thinks the capital club has every chance: “I’m proud the club won the title despite the premature end to the season. The fact it was dedicated to hospital staff was a superb initiative from the club. It’s a way of paying tribute to those who have proved to be heroes on a daily basis. And we still have the Champions League and that makes all Paris supporters dream. We watched the first and second leg of the tie with Dortmund with the Fan Club in a bar. There was a good crowd out and we lived the second leg like a liberation. We have a squad that can compete with the biggest clubs and we hope to carry on our progress in this competition that is very important to us.”

Faced by this crisis, Romain wanted to get one last message across: “I would like to thank all the medical personnel for what they have done since the start of this health crisis. Thanks to Paris Saint-Germain for its donations and its initiatives. We are a real family and it’s together that we’ll get out of this bad spell.”

“We hope to see Paris Saint-Germain again soon”
